They left a voicemail. Text them back automatically.
A voicemail shouldn't disappear into an inbox. AutoReply sends the caller an instant text from your Zoom Phone number so they know you got their message — and can reply right there.
- Free — unlimited voicemail replies
- Works alongside Zoom's transcription
- Cancels if you respond first
Why voicemail auto-reply matters
Leaving a voicemail already feels like a gamble. The caller doesn't know if or when you'll listen, and many won't leave one at all. A quick text back — even just “Got your message, I'll call you shortly” — closes that uncertainty instantly and opens a channel the caller can actually use.
Zoom Phone tells you about the voicemail. Voicemail auto-reply tells the calleryou're on it. Those are two different jobs — and only one of them keeps the customer from wondering whether they've been forgotten.
What Zoom Phone does — and what it doesn't
Zoom Phone already records voicemails, transcribes them, and emails you a notification. AutoReply never duplicates any of that. What Zoom Phone doesn't do is send the caller a message back. That outbound acknowledgement is what AutoReply for Zoom Phoneadds — on the free plan.
How it works
- A voicemail is received. Zoom Phone notifies AutoReply the moment the caller finishes recording.
- A short delay runs. AutoReply pauses briefly in case you jump on it yourself.
- Cancellation is checked. If you've already called or texted the caller back, nothing sends.
- The acknowledgement goes out. Otherwise the caller gets your text from your own Zoom Phone number.

Frequently asked questions
Does Zoom Phone auto-reply to voicemails?
Not on its own. Zoom Phone transcribes voicemails and emails you a notification, but it doesn't text the caller back. AutoReply for Zoom Phone adds a voicemail auto-reply that acknowledges the caller by SMS, included free.
When does the voicemail auto-reply send?
AutoReply waits a short intelligent delay after the voicemail is received. If you call or text the person back first, the reply is cancelled. Otherwise a text goes out from your Zoom Phone number so the caller knows their message was received.
Can I use a different message for voicemails than for missed calls?
Yes, on Pro. The free plan uses one shared default template. Pro ($8.99/user/month) lets you write a separate voicemail template — for example acknowledging that you got their message and will listen shortly.
Does it replace Zoom's voicemail transcription?
No. AutoReply never duplicates what Zoom already does. Zoom still handles voicemail recording, transcription, and email notifications — AutoReply just adds the outbound text back to the caller.
