FAQ
Common questions about setup, features, and billing.
- What do I need to use AutoReply?
- AutoReply requires an active Zoom Phone license with SMS texting enabled on your number. Both are Zoom account features — if you're unsure whether your plan includes them, check with your Zoom admin or contact Zoom support directly. AutoReply can't enable these for you; it works on top of what's already active on your Zoom account.
- What does AutoReply for Zoom Phone do?
- It automatically sends SMS replies from your own Zoom Phone number when you miss a call, receive a voicemail, or can't respond to a text. Replies appear natively in your Zoom Phone SMS inbox — contacts see the message as coming from your number.
- Does it work with my existing Zoom Phone number?
- Yes. AutoReply uses your existing Zoom Phone number to send messages. No new number is required. Replies stay in your Zoom SMS thread alongside regular messages.
- What's the difference between Free and Pro?
- Free includes missed call and voicemail auto-replies, a fixed 3-minute smart delay, spam filtering, business hours scheduling, a global pause toggle, and unlimited replies — replies only send during your set business hours. Pro ($8.99/month, 7-day free trial) adds auto-reply for unanswered texts, customizable templates for each scenario, adjustable delay (1–60 minutes), after-hours replies, and keyword and message length filters.
- How does billing work?
- Billing is handled entirely through Zoom Marketplace. Your subscription is managed in Zoom — there is no separate checkout or payment form on our end. To upgrade, downgrade, or cancel, go to your Zoom Marketplace subscriptions.
- How do I access my settings?
- Open the Zoom desktop app, click Apps in the left sidebar, and select AutoReply for Zoom Phone. From there you can manage all settings including templates, business hours, delay, and pause status. You can also go directly to arzoom.app/settings. Settings are not yet available on the Zoom mobile app.
- Will it spam my contacts?
- No. AutoReply includes multiple protections: 12-hour deduplication prevents sending to the same number more than once per 12-hour window, internal coworker numbers are automatically skipped, spam numbers are filtered, and smart cancellation suppresses replies if you respond before the delay expires.
- What if I call or text back before the auto-reply sends?
- AutoReply uses smart cancellation. If you respond to the contact yourself during the delay window, the auto-reply is automatically cancelled. No duplicate or redundant messages will be sent.
- What if the caller texts back before the delay expires?
- The caller texting you does not cancel the auto-reply. The auto-reply is only cancelled if you respond — by calling or texting the contact back during the delay window. If the caller rings you back and you answer, that also cancels the pending reply.
- Does it reply to internal coworkers?
- No. Internal extensions and coworker numbers are automatically detected and excluded. Auto-replies only go to external contacts.
- Does it work with call queues or shared lines?
- No. AutoReply only triggers on calls made directly to your personal Zoom Phone number. Calls routed through call queues, auto attendants, or shared line groups do not trigger auto-replies, since those calls are not direct missed calls to your number.
- Is my data secure?
- Yes. AutoReply connects through Zoom's official OAuth flow via the Zoom Marketplace. We never see or store your Zoom password. We only access the permissions required to monitor Zoom Phone events and send SMS on your behalf. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
- How do I check why an auto-reply did or didn't send?
- Open Zoom → Apps → AutoReply for Zoom Phone and view the Recent Activity log. It shows each event the app detected, whether a reply was sent or cancelled, and the reason. This is the best first step for any troubleshooting question.
- How do I uninstall the app?
- Remove AutoReply from your installed apps in Zoom Marketplace. Uninstalling immediately stops all auto-reply activity and triggers deletion of your associated data from our systems.
- Can I customize the reply message?
- On the Free plan, a default reply message is used. On Pro, you can create separate templates for missed calls, voicemails, after-hours situations, and unanswered texts. Open the Zoom app → Apps → AutoReply for Zoom Phone to manage your templates.
